JCC Greenwich and AuthorsLive@GreenwichLibrary present an evening with legendary author Judy Blume. Blume's new novel for adults, In the Unlikely Event
, is her first in fifteen years and spans family, friendships, love and betrayal in its retelling of three real-life passenger plane crashes in the author's hometown of Elizabeth, N.J. in 1951.“These events have lingered in my mind ever since,” says Blume. “It was a crazy time.
We were witnessing things that were incomprehensible to us as teenagers. Was it sabotage? An alien invasion? No one knew, and people were understandably terrified.” Against this background, Blume imagines the lives of three generations of families, friends and strangers, who will be profoundly affected by these events. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event from Diane's Books. This program is free and open to all.
