Event Details

Create 3D structures using design-based thinking! You'll learn the basics of 3D design & printing by initially creating a house – anything from your future home to a lunar dwelling – using the application of math, science, art, and technology skills in a fun way! Work towards mastering skills by creating a product, toy, or model.

3D Design encourages you to think creatively to produce anything from recreating your favorite droid to a designing tablet stand – whatever you can dream up!

This course is a great introduction to the exploration of 3D printing from design to production! Part II takes the techniques learned in Part I to the next level with 3D Printed Product Design. In this enrollment, students will learn how to solve a problem or need with a 3D printed product of their own design. Can’t get that last bit of toothpaste out? Design and print a toothpaste squeezer!

Creating products that will be used in real-life applications require proper planning, measurement, prototyping and testing, and learning from mistakes to make the product perfect. It’s amazing for students to build on key STEAM skills and experience the process of envisioning a product, designing and creating it, and then physically holding it in their hands!

Ages 13 & up.

Part II takes place on October 12 at 1 pm.
