Make beautiful, three-dimensional flowers out of decorative paper with Greenwich Library’s 2018 Art to the Avenue artist Jane Coco Cowles. In this 60-minute demonstration and workshop, Jane will discuss her process and show children and parents alike how to make their own one-of-a-kind art out of recycled materials. An informal discussion with refreshments will follow the program. All materials provided.
About Jane Cowles
Jane considers herself a self-taught artist, despite receiving a BA in Fine Art from Drew University. Her desire to create began long before then with a need to reconstruct the images she imagined while reading fanciful stories as a child. Like the plot of a novel unfolds, each design evolves detail by detail. Her idiosyncratic, sometimes overly ordered style is influenced by growing up in a chaotic household and training as a tax attorney. Most, if not all of her work, is done in series, a set of squares and reflected on stark white backgrounds.
Jane's artwork will be on display in the Library's self-checkout area from Thursday, May 3 until Monday, May 28 as part of Art to the Avenue.
